The two prototype HST power cars were originally numbered 41001 and 41002 but were renumbered to 43000 and 43001 respectively. The production build power cars were numbered from 43002 upwards to 43198. During the MTU refurbishment program the GNER and Cross
Country operated
power cars were renumbered to reflect their re-engineering by adding 200 to the
existing number in that, for example, 43090 became 43290. No renumbering for the re-engineered
power cars in use with other operators has taken place. |
